Thank God who closes doors! After -all he knows exactly what’s on the other side. We love doors! Doors of opportunity but not every door leads to your blessing! Isn’t it amazing how much he loves us so much he protects us even from what we think is right – Romans 12:3.
Don’t fret over that relationship that didn’t work out, a friendship that failed, a job you didn’t get, a journey or plan that didn’t fall through; some things just aren’t meant for you! God knows what’s best for us and even though he wants us to have our hearts desires; like a parent he will never give us something bad for us. Proverbs 3: 12 says, ‘For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
‘Stop trying to knock down closed doors and just learn to trust him, he knows your future. He has you in the palm of his hands.
‘And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open‘ - Isaiah 22:22
You cant have it both ways, to receive you first have to release! When people walk away from you, wish them well, wave goodbye, look ahead and get excited because the door thats about to open is greater than what has been in your past! What belongs to you will stay! They may seem amazing now but boy does he know, the Lord knows it all! He sees the wasted years at a dead end job, business investments that will fail, he sees the man or woman that will run off and leave you heart broken he sees the one who calls you friend but back-bites every chance they get! He sees all that you cannot and will protect you.
Here’s another reassuring verse from the God who knows the end from the beginning: Isaiah 46:10 – ‘Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.’
Wisdom to know the difference:
When the cloud stayed Israel stayed, when the cloud moved Israel moved (Isaiah 33 & Numbers 9: 17-22)
If you havent read Numbers 9:17-22, I recommend that you do. It shows the people of Israel staying and moving with God. When the cloud rested above their tents, they stayed. And when it moved, they moved. He will always guide your way so that you can know when to stay and when to move (when to believe in something and when to let go in order to make way for something new to come into your life!) The moral of the story is ‘Stay where the cloud is’! Pray that you may be sensitive to the voice of the Holy-Spirit who will make his instruction clear sometimes he wont tell you why and just that it is, what it is. It is not for us to know everything but to trust the one who does.
Other times there is absolutely nothing wrong with that opportunity, relationship or friendship other than that it just simply isn’t God’s best!! That season is over and you have learnt what you need to learn. He wants the Kingdom for you ‘on earth as it is in heaven’ – Luke 11:20 ‘ His dreams are so much bigger. Sometimes don’t ask how or why just be Grateful. Praise opens doors! When you praise, you’re showing him that you are ready for the next best thing!! Get ready because love is coming your way, great friends are about to enter your life, a career that will change your life is coming, a new business opportunity and journeys to places you could never even begin to imagine.
